As the school year begins, global team members and the world’s most iconic paper brands are participating in back-to-school initiatives to support students and teachers worldwide.

In North America: Sylvamo partnered with 14 organizations and schools to donate 19 pallets of paper, equating to 7,600 reams and 3.8 million sheets.

Memphis, Tennessee: The Memphis World Headquarters team renovated a teacher’s breakroom at adopt-a-school Balmoral Ridgeway Elementary with new appliances, furniture and décor. In partnership with the Memphis Grizzlies, the company is also sponsoring and co-hosting “Read to Achieve ‒ Grizz Goes Back to School,” an event focused on encouraging English as second language (ESL) students to read.

Ticonderoga, New York Mill: Ticonderoga presented the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance (Ti-Alliance) donation of $50,000 to help develop a new 50 child childcare center, addressing a critical community need of childcare availability. The facility will open in January 2024.

Eastover, South Carolina Mill: The Eastover mill will continue to support the Lunch Buddies program at Webber Elementary School. This partnership pairs Sylvamo employees with students to have lunch, read books, help with homework and play sports regularly throughout the school year.

Hammermill®: The brand helped fulfill wish lists for educators nationwide by participating in a social media “Clear The List” campaign to purchase school supplies for teachers. The social media movement raises awareness about the lack of classroom supplies and helps teachers access important items on their wish lists.

Chamex Institute: The Chamex Institute will host English classes for students in a socially vulnerable neighborhood in Mogi Guacu. Sylvamo employees will assist in English practice conversation sessions.
